Children's Worker Safety Check

A Children’s Worker Safety Check is a legislative requirement under The Act for children’s workers. It will be required for all non-core workers from 1 July 2019.

 

Choose from one of the four check options?

There are four options to select from, the right one depends on the answer to the following two questions:

1. Is the check for an Existing Worker or a New Worker? 

Existing – employees currently employed as a children’s worker


New – NOT currently employed as a children’s worker
 

2. Is the check for an Accredited Worker or a Non-Accredited Worker?

Accredited – the child workers job requires them to hold registration with a regulatory authority (eg, Teacher Registration or the Medical Council of New Zealand) and hold an annual practicing certificate


Non-Accredited – the child workers job does NOT require you to hold registration with a regulatory authority
